ATCC human glioblastoma astrocytoma cells u 373 mg
Effect of supercritical CO 2 tomato extract (sCO 2 TE) on cell viability. Human glioblastoma astrocyte <t>cells</t> <t>U-373</t> were treated with sCO 2 TE (100 μg/mL), conventional tomato extract (CTE, 100 μg/mL) or sodium arsenite (AsNaO 2 , 200 μM). The number of viable cells was determined by Trypan Blue (TB) exclusion test. Data are reported as the mean ± standard deviation (SD) among 10 independent experiments ( A ). Cell proliferation was measured by 3-(4,5-dimethylthylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay. Data are reported as the mean ± standard deviation (SD) among 5 independent experiments performed in triplicate and represent cell viability as a percentage of vehicle ( B ).

doi: 10.1186/s12985-025-02934-0

Figure Lengend Snippet: Phage growth parameters obtained from the first lytic cycle of one step growth experiments with E.coli cultured in a chemostat at the dilution rates shown in Fig. : ( A ) Initial concentration of bacteria (X 0 ) and bacteriophages (P 0 ); ( B ) Concentration of infected bacteria (I X ) and generated phages (GF); ( C ) Latent period (LP) and Eclipse period (EP); ( D ) Adsorption constant (Ka); ( E ) Burst size (BS), which increased linearly with dilution rate (slope = 86.69 ± 3.98, R² = 0.985). The dashed Line indicates the regression fit, and dotted Lines represent the 95% confidence interval; (F) Bacteriophage fitness (F, red squares) decreased with decreasing dilution rate, in agreement with model predictions λ = λ max *D/(K λ +D) (λ max = 11.1 h −1 ; K λ =0.39 h −1 , black dashed line). ANOVA confirmed significant differences between all dilution rates ( p < 0.0001). Error bars indicate ± SD of three independent biological replicates

Article Snippet: The bacterial strain Escherichia coli K-12 MG 1655 (DSM 18039), sourced from the Leibniz Institute DSMZ Germany, and the lytic bacteriophage T4 (DSM 4505) were employed in all experiments.
